Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 31, 2026 · Last updated: August 31, 2026
Run Gen Z (“Run Gen Z,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to www.rungenz.com and any other website, sign-up form, text messaging program, event, or online service that links to this Policy (collectively, the “Services”).
By using our Services or providing information to us, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Information we collect
Information you give us
We collect information you provide directly — for example, when you fill out a form, sign up for updates, register for an event, make a donation, sign a petition, volunteer, or contact us. This may include your name, email address, mailing address, ZIP code, mobile phone number, employer and occupation, and any message or information you choose to share. If you make a donation, payment card and billing details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Anedot; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and dates and times of access. We use this to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Services.
Information from third parties
We may receive information about you from service providers, event partners, and public sources, and combine it with information we already have.
How we use your information
- Send you updates, newsletters, event invitations, and — if you opt in — text messages;
- Process and acknowledge donations and comply with applicable campaign finance and reporting requirements;
- Organize events, volunteer efforts, and grassroots activity;
- Respond to your questions and requests;
- Operate, personalize, analyze, secure, and improve the Services; and
- Comply with the law and enforce our terms.
Text messaging (SMS) program
If you provide your mobile number and opt in — by checking the SMS consent box on one of our forms, texting a keyword to our number, or otherwise expressly agreeing — you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Run Gen Z, including updates, event and volunteer information, and political and fundraising messages from which donations may be solicited. Consent is not a condition of any donation or purchase.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time, or reply HELP for help. You may also contact us at team@rungenz.com. For full terms, see our SMS Terms of Service.
We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in (consent) information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell this information. We may share your mobile information only with vendors and service providers that help us operate our messaging program (such as our text-messaging platform), solely to provide those services to us and subject to confidentiality obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf — such as email and text-messaging platforms, payment processing (Anedot), hosting, and analytics — under obligations to protect the information.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, to comply with campaign finance or other reporting obligations, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Run Gen Z or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of our operations or assets.
- With your direction. When you ask us to, or when you make information public through our Services.
As stated above, your mobile phone number and SMS consent information are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes, regardless of any other sharing described here.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; some features may not work properly if you do. We may use analytics providers (such as web analytics and advertising measurement tools) that collect usage information as described above.
Your choices
- Email. You can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us. We will still send transactional or administrative messages where needed.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time.
- Cookies. Adjust your browser settings as described above.
- Access and updates. Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to legal limits.
Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to request access or deletion, to correct inaccuracies, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or certain targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share mobile or SMS data for third-party marketing. To exercise any right, contact us at team@rungenz.com; we will not discriminate against you for doing so. California residents may designate an authorized agent to make a request on their behalf.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our Services may link to third-party websites and platforms (for example, Anedot or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
